We fell in love with our 1941 Fixer Upper in the Brookdale neighborhood of Bloomfield, New Jersey.
But, not with the Pink bathroom. Or the kitchen. Or the peeling, stained and papered walls.
Those are topics for other posts!
But, the bathroom was our latest project. From pink to paradise!
Y'all just want to see the befores.
To the right inside the door was an extra large original cast iron tub (that we adored despite the crumbling grout and caulking all around it) .
There was a small original sink straight ahead, and a small walk in shower to the left.
Peel and stick tile on the floor. I still can't figure that one out.
We made sure to keep it nice and messy for the before photos. Full effect family reality messy.
And yet, FULL of potential! I saw that we could steal the shower, the whole kids's room closet which was on the opposite side and part of the hall linen closet to create a boutique master bath. It would leave us with the exact footprint to keep a size-able main bathroom, and, best yet, it would give me the opportunity to design two bathrooms perfectly to my taste! So, we saved our money and made it happen.
And, now, our Main Bath is a dream!
Our three kids share the space, so double sinks were a must!
This tile is dreamy...classic with major impact.
Though we certainly spent all our savings on it, this renovation made our home work for us for years and years to come. We love it! And, we'll keep fixing the place up until it's strong and beautiful inside AND out...kinda' like raising a 4th kid!
Restoring our home has given us endless inspiration as we design our dream space and nurture our family. It's even catapulted my career as a Home Stylist!
Stay tuned for a view of the new Master and Master bath!...and for the dirty details on the many, many...many projects we've taken on over the past 3 years.
